”I wish to have a child sized fire truck.” Akif, born with Down syndrome, faced a challenging journey at just nine years old. His walking abilities weakened with time, eventually making him unable to stand. After weeks of medical examinations, doctors diagnosed him with leukemia. So far, Akif has endured a bone marrow transplant and three rounds of intensive chemotherapy.
Upon arriving at the fire station, Akif received his own miniature firefighter uniform and was officially inducted into the brigade. When the alarm sounded, Akif embarked on his first firefighting mission, enjoying a day filled with firefighter-in-training activities. As the day concluded, Captain Akif was surprised with a room filled with gifts, including his very own miniature fire truck. Akif's parents firmly believe that fulfilling his wish not only brought him joy but also instilled the courage to persevere in his treatment journey.
