At 7 years old, Camila received a diagnosis of Osteosarcoma, a cancer that forms immature bone. Due to her condition, her left leg was amputated. In an effort to uplift her spirits during her recovery, her mother enrolled her with Make-A-Wish. Camila's heartfelt wish was, "I want a poodle dog."
With the support of Make A Wish, volunteers, and generous donors, they were able to fulfill Camila's wish in a truly special manner when she turned 8. On the day of her wish fulfillment, Camila, equipped with her prosthetic leg, joyfully walked. Make A Wish surprised her at home with a large box containing her much-desired puppy. The delight on her face was unforgettable. This precious pup became her companion for 15 years, aiding immensely in her emotional healing journey.
